Cadets from B Company recently took part in an action-packed ક્ષેત્રયાન weekend designed to develop their military skills and help them progress through their Army Cadet Star levels. The weekend offered a hands-on opportunity for cadets to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork while learning vital fieldcraft techniques.

Throughout the weekend, cadets completed a variety of essential exercises, including personal camouflage and concealment, duties of a sentry, and stalking. These sessions tested their awareness, patience, and ability to blend into natural surroundings – skills that are key to effective fieldcraft. Cadets also experienced a taste of night training, which challenged them to adapt their senses and communication in low-light conditions. The programme concluded with several patrols, where teamwork and quick thinking were essential.

Beyond the military training, the weekend provided cadets with valuable life skills. Working together toward common goals encouraged leadership, cooperation, and problem-solving – all while spending quality time outdoors. For many, the experience was not only educational but also a lot of fun.

Importantly, the cost of participation was kept affordable, with a full weekend of activities, accommodation, and meals costing just £15. Concessions were also available for cadets who receive school meals, ensuring that all young people have the chance to take part.

Organisers have already encouraged cadets to look out for the next company training weekend or to sign up for the upcoming Easter or Annual Camp 2026 — both promising even more opportunities for adventure and learning.

A huge thank you goes to the dedicated Adult Volunteers who made the weekend possible through their planning, guidance, and support. Congratulations to all the cadets who took part and successfully advanced their training — a true demonstration of teamwork, commitment, and enthusiasm.
