B Company brought their successful year to a festive close with a highly anticipated Christmas training weekend. It was filled with exciting activities, valuable learning experiences, and their much anticipated annual Christmas meal. Held over two action-packed days, the event brought together cadets, staff, and adult volunteers for a weekend that balanced challenge, celebration, and camaraderie.
Throughout the weekend, cadets had the chance to participate in a broad range of engaging activities designed to build skills, confidence, and teamwork. The archery sessions proved a particular favourite, with many cadets honing their focus and accuracy. On the air rifle range, instructors supported participants in improving discipline, precision, and safety awareness. Alongside these physical challenges, cadets also received ACS first aid training, reinforcing essential life-saving skills and ensuring everyone walked away more confident in their ability to respond in an emergency. Adding to the real-world experience, the community police visit offered insights into local policing, public safety, and career pathways, giving cadets the chance to interact, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of frontline community support.
Of course, no Christmas weekend would be complete without the traditional Christmas meal. Cadets and adult volunteers dressed up in their best attire and enjoyed an evening of celebration, laughter, and festive spirit. The dining hall atmosphere was one to remember—filled with decorations, great company, and a well-earned chance to relax after a busy year of training and achievements.
One of the highlights of the weekend were the awards, where numerous cadets were recognised for their progress, conduct, and contributions throughout the year. A particular congratulations goes to Cdt Sgt Thurtle, who proudly received her four-star award, the highest star attainable—an outstanding reflection of dedication and perseverance.
B Company extends a heartfelt well done to every cadet for their commitment in 2025. Equally, a sincere thank you goes to all staff and adult volunteers, whose continued support and hard work make every success possible. Here’s to another year of growth, adventure, and achievement!
