STEM CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS 2026

What an achievement! Black Watch Cadets have been crowned winners of Ex STEM Challenge 2026!

This fantastic result reflects the teamwork, determination and problem-solving skills demonstrated by our cadets throughout the competition. They faced every challenge with enthusiasm, showed initiative and worked together to achieve an outstanding result.

Their success is another example of how Army Cadets develop valuable skills, build confidence and discover opportunities beyond their everyday experiences.

Seven Army Corps, Seven Challenges

Throughout Ex STEM Challenge 2026, the cadets tackled a series of practical and demanding challenges set by seven Army Corps.

These included:

Cuerpo Aéreo del Ejército
Ingenieros Reales
Adjutant General’s Corps
Royal Logistic Corps
Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (REME)
Cuerpo de Inteligencia
Artillería Real

Each challenge provided a different opportunity to develop knowledge, test practical skills and put teamwork into action.

Furthermore, the cadets enjoyed an unforgettable flight in a Chinook helicopter, adding another memorable experience to an already exciting competition.

Teamwork, Determination and Achievement

Winning Ex STEM Challenge 2026 was no small achievement. The team demonstrated exactly what can be accomplished when individuals work together towards a shared goal.

Their positive attitude, commitment and willingness to tackle unfamiliar challenges helped them stand out.

Moreover, experiences like this show how Army Cadets can explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in exciting and practical ways.

Thank You to Everyone Involved

REME organised Ex STEM Challenge 2026, and we extend our sincere thanks to them for delivering such an excellent event.

We also thank all the Corps for providing engaging challenges and giving our cadets the opportunity to experience the breadth of skills and opportunities within the British Army.
