Sussex Army Cadet Force owns three Jago KitKars which are used for competition and displays throughout the year. Breaking down into its component parts, the KitKar team must assemble the car within the shortest time possible, before driving it across the finish line!
Managed by Second Lieutenant Bond, the KitKar team travels the county, performing at a variety of events such as Paddle Round the Pier and various Armed Forces Day.
Cadets that have completed their basic training can apply for selection onto the team, and will undertake a number of training weekends throughout the year. It’s a disciplined activity which requires a different set of skills, but which focuses on teamwork as the group must work together and all roles are vitally important to ensure that the car is assembled safely and in the quickest time.
This activity also allows the selected cadet to undertake STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities.
This activity can also go towards their Skill section of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
