About Our County

Oxfordshire Army Cadet Force is a national youth organisation for boys and girls aged 12-18 years. We offer unparalleled opportunities for you to try new activities, learn valuable skills and make some of the best friends you’ll ever have!

We aim at inspiring young people in the core values of the Army Cadet Force. Giving world class training in military and civilian skills alike. During a cadet's carer they will be given the opportunity to complete and compete in numerous activities such as First Aid, DofE (Duke of Edinburgh’s Award) and the BTEC Certificate in Public Services and Music (Equivalent to 4 GCSE grades A*- C). Fieldcraft and Navigation are just two of the many military based activities available.

Oxfordshire ACF is home to over 450 cadets and 150 adult volunteers in 22 detachments covering all of Oxfordshire. Our detachments are split into 4 Companies; Calais, Nivelle, Quebec and Somme. The companies are named after Battle Honours which were awarded to the former regiments of The Rifles. Each company is split into around 5 or 6 detachments, which allows cadets easy access to a detachment in their local area.

The County HQ and Weekend Training Centre is based in Bicester. Each company has around 4 training weekends a year which will be held at our weekend training centre or our field training area (Bramley or Piddington) and as a county we come together for a 2 week camp during August.
