COMMANDANTS MESSAGE - November 2020

This months message from Colonel M Davanna

6 November 2020

With the brisk days and dark nights drawing in, November usually sees our cadets and adult volunteers enjoying this period of engaging with members of their communities poppy collecting on behalf of the Royal British Legion. They all take great pride in getting their uniforms immaculate and practicing foot drill ready for the many Remembrance Parades across our three Counties.

As we have now moved into a period of National Lockdown our return to training plans have been suspended until the 02 December when they will be reviewed, whilst this is disappointing for all of us, we encourage everyone to mark Remembrance staying safe and respecting the fallen by saluting on their doorstep in uniform and sharing this on social media using #doorstepsalute in conjunction with the Remembrance Penny initiative.

LEST WE FORGET

They shall not grow old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,

WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.

Over this lock down period we are returning to virtual training and are working hard to expand the opportunities we can offer our cadets. You will still be able to take part in sports, music, Duke of Edinburgh, CVQO and star level training. Stay safe and keep positive as we will return as soon as it is safe to do so.
