National ACF Conference

23 January 2020

Kent ACF Deputy Commandant, Lieutenant Simon Dean, OBE, recently attended the National ACF conference - this was hailed as great success and was attended by senior ranks from across the country, ACF champions and guests.

Ex army cadet and now Officer Cdt Caddick was an excellent speaker, he is now at Sandhurst and spoke about his cadet experience. The new Cadet portal was also launched.

Presentations included some significant findings from the national ACF survey, researched by Northampton University on the benefits of being a member of the Cadet Forces and how it significantly improves outcomes in education and life-long learning, success and development. Results of which will be published soon.

New Ambassadors were also announced at the conference, Scottish Polar Explorer and Gulf War Veteran Craig Mathieson, and Guinness World Record Holder and Afghanistan Veteran Major (Retd) Sally Orange to the ACF family.

The pair join Phil Campion (ACF Champion) and Jordan Wylie (Ambassador) to help inspire cadets and adult volunteers to be the best they can be, promote the CCF(A) and ACF through their social media accounts and attend various events or detachments where possible.
