Armed Forces Day: Kent ACF Remembers, Sgt Liam Edwards (former Cadet RSM)

27 June 2020

Sgt Liam Edwards (former Cadet RSM), Mascalls, Paddock Wood.

I’ve done some digging into my family history and found that my Great Grandad Fredrick Reynolds started his army career in 1923 and finished his service following the end of the war in 1945. During his time he made it to Regimental Sergeant Major after his 22 years service. He served in France, the Middle East and North Africa; he served in The Buffs. He was at Dunkirk during D day and was taken home by fisherman who came to Dunkirk to help with the evacuation.

My Great Nan Rose Dorothy Ferris (Reynolds) serviced in the RAF when she could join up, when she old enough. In the RAF she was a chef and was based at air station in Warwick. Then she joined the RBL later and was standard bearer for many years. The last picture is of my late Great nanny Rose.
