The Kent ACF County Training Team (CTT) was set up historically to test the county’s cadets at 3 Star Level. However as a result of the changes to the Adult selection and training introduced in 2013 the team has expanded its ambit to include the organisation and delivery of the BIC (Basic Instructors Course) and IIC (Intermediate Instructors Course) courses with a view to training and preparing all the county’s new Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) to attend the AIC (Advanced Instructors Course) which are delivered by the Brigade Cadet Training teams. CFAVs who pass AIC are promoted from Potential Instructor (PI) to the rank of Sergeant Instructor and can teach ACF subjects up to 2 star level.
Our team is commanded by a Captain (OC) with two full time CFAVs who are appointed as subject lead instructors to cover Senior Cadet training and testing, and Adult selection and training. Each of the four Kent sub units provide two part time instructors, one each for the Adult and Senior Cadet teams. They work with the CTT on a number of weekends through the year and on annual camp, as well as parading at a detachment during the week. The CTT sits under the command of the Deputy Commandant (Training).
The OC CTT and lead instructors are attached to County Headquarters Staff and parade at County HQ on some Tuesday evenings, where they can be contacted on 01622 750328.
