Brigg Detachment gets out in the community for Broughton Burn

2 October 2017

On Saturday 16th September, cadets and CFAV from Brigg and Kirton detachments attended Broughton Burn to help marshall the event. It is the first year the 4.5 mile charity race has been done, with all proceeds going to the alzeimers society.

Despite the rainy weather, cadets had smiles on their faces and really enjoyed the event.

SI Hannah White said...
" The cadets did us all proud and had fun doing the event at the same time. They were a credit to each detachment and we hope to be invited back next year."

Event planner Steve Portess and his father in law Graham Briggs were grateful for the help from our cadets. A message was sent from Graham, a former Royal artillery gunner afterwards saying, "The Cadets were a credit to the cap badge today. Please pass on our thanks to all who came to the run. Hope they didn't get too wet. Once again thank you."

This is the first cadet in the community event that Cadet Needham from Kirton has attended. She said, "It was a good day and we enjoyed helping out even though it was raining."
