Selected Cadets from HSY ACF and Queen Etheburga’s CCF will deploy on Exercise Ares Challenge located in Cyprus over the period 04-12 April 2020. The aim of the exercise is to develop and practice leadership skills and resilience through Infantry training whilst operating in a warm climate. There will also be opportunity to visit both regular Army and RAF units, as well as the United States Air Force.
In addition to the military training it is intended to conduct cultural visits to local sites of antiquity, engage in beach activities (water sports) and have a BBQ. What will you be doing??

The Exercise will be heavily subsidised by the MoD however Cadets will be required to make a contribution of £800 (It is hoped that grants for circa £150 per person will be secured by County HQ in order to reduce this sum). This will cover the cost flights, part payment towards rations, purchase of specialised climate related equipment, some of the transport costs and entry to local attractions.
Initially the Exercise is aimed at Senior Cadets (Post 3 Star and above) however if you do not meet this criteria still put your name forward and it will go on a reserve list.
Interested Cadets are to have their names to their Company HQ no later than 18 November. Selected will be notified shortly after this date. A deposit of £150(non- refundable) will be required before 30 November to secure your place.
In summary, Exercise Ares Challenge will be informative, challenging but above all
We are also looking to 2 Adults to attend Names to your Company HQ.
