Read below for a summary of the Col’s weekly Brief.

The first thing I would like to announce is our County 2iC Lt Col Catherine Harrison has been appointed the next Commandant of Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force, taking over from me at the end of the year. You may wonder why I'm going? The role of the Commandant is only for a limited period of time and although the time seems to have gone very quickly or it certainly does for me. My time is up at the end of this year. My hearty congratulations to her. I know that she will make a fantastic job as she leads the County through its next stage of development.

One of our other Deputy Commandants, Lt Colonel David Seddon has been appointed as Commandant of Merseyside ACF. He will take on this appointment starting 1st July. Congratulations and best wishes to him as he leaves Greater Manchester ACF.

The third announcement is our cadet RSM. Cadet RSM Rio Wolstenholme leaves us now he has reached 18. Thank you so much for all that you have done and all you have brought to County, including the key role he has played in the Mayor Andy Burnham's Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority. (Story to follow on Cadet RSM Wolstenholme)

This coming week is Armed Forces Week. There is plenty of information available of activities that you can take part in and I do hope that everybody that is watching this will in some way shape or form be involved in recognising the wonderful work that our armed forces do. It would be nice if everybody that's watching this who has a uniform, puts it on at some point during the week, ideally next Saturday which is Armed Forces Day. Put your uniform on and salute our Armed Forces. Click here for more on Armed Forces Day 2020

Please send your picture to our county PRO on 9711callag@armymail.mod.uk. If you are a cadet please ask your parent or carer to do this for you to confirm permission for us to share on our media sites.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads that are watching this whether you are the father of a cadet or whether you are one of our adult volunteers who is a dad. I hope you are having a great day as always.

As always look after yourselves, look after each other and stay safe
