Story and pictures from Rusholme Detachment, No 3 (Somme) Company.
As part of their special interest programme, a group of cadets from Rusholme Detachment, No 3 (Somme) Company were invited to the Army Reserve Centre, to see how their neighbours at 37 Signal Regiment worked. The 37 Signal Regiment is an Army Reserve regiment in the Royal Corps of Signals in the British Army.
Over the course of the evening the cadets brushed up on their voice procedures and how to relay messages via radio. They were instrumental in relaying these messages within a variety of hypothetical scenarios, ranging from civil disruption to rescuing an injured paramedic. The cadets learnt the vital importance of teamwork from all parties concerned, and that the information must be clear, concise and correct.
Bringing the evening to a close, the cadet unit was presented with a certificate of affiliation, which was received by Cadet Cpl Plant. Many thanks to the Army Reserve Centre for hosting the evening, and to Sgt Isherwood and his recruiting team for a very informative and fun evening.
