Story & pictures by SI Paul Collins, Leigh Detachment Commander, No 5 (Anzio) Company
On Monday the 29th April Leigh Detachment (KRH) and staff joined Hindley Detachment (KRH) to take part in high quality training led by Cadet Sergeant Rob Sculthorpe.
Sergeant Sculthorpe was keen to be able to pass on his knowledge gained from what he learns on the weekends he spends with Waterloo Company as well as the Senior Cadet Instructor Course (SCIC) he has attended.
In February this year Sgt Sculthorpe attended a Senior Cadet Instructor Course. He achieved Highly Competent throughout the week on every subect that he was assessed on. The North West Cadet Training Team who run the course, gave him an outstanding report saying his instructional ability is without question of a high standard. It was as a result of this glowing report that Sgt Sculthorphe was able to lead the training and pass on his knowdelge to the cadets from both detachments. The lesson covered leadership as well as teamwork. This is transferable to all areas of a young persons life making it a great quality to have. It will also help them as they progress through their learning within the ACF.
All the cadets of different training levels engaged well making the night a huge success. The weather was fantastic which is a definite bonus to ensure the cadets thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Thank you to Sgt Sculthorpe and well done to all that attended.
