Armed Forces Day

With only a week to go until the nation celebrates Armed Forces Day, what plans does everyone have to recognise the work of the UK Armed Forces and wider Armed Forces community? Due to the current lockdown rules all major events have been cancelled.

Armed Forces Week launches on Monday 22 June. This year North West RFCA, which we belong, has selected Friday 26 June as being cadet focused.

Saturday 27 June is Armed Forces Day

What are your plans for the 26 or 27 June?

Here are a few ideas for how to celebrate Armed Forces Day virtually on Saturday 27 June:

  1. Visit the Armed Forces Facebook page throughout the day for a programme of online events including interviews with military personnel, performances from military bands, exclusive behind the scenes access and more.
  2. Host a virtual celebration with friends and family via video chat – from virtual BBQs or picnics with friends online or even an Armed Forces themed quiz.
  3. Send a picture of you in uniform saluting our forces.

Please ask your parents or carers to share your photos with us to post on our media sites. The email address to send them is

Whatever you decide to do we hope you all have a very happy Armed Forces Day.
