Vital Life-saving skills taught at camp!

9 August 2018

In case you missed it with the Hussle and bustle of the camp we managed to run a number of First aid courses, teaching lifesaving skills to our cadets. The lady responsible for all of the first aid training at camp this year had this to say:

“My name is Lieutenant Thompson, my actual job role is that I’m a first aid trainer for St John Ambulance. I train adults and children in a range of courses including First Aid at Work, Automated External Defibrillator and Mental Health First Aid. I use these skills to train Adult Instructors and Cadets, for example this annual camp I’ve trained new and current Instructors and Cadets including a star 4 course. I enjoy passing my knowledge on to all in my Company and County and feel privileged to be training on behalf of the County. With this, we have had success in the Regional First Aid Competition where we came first and are off to National First Aid Competition in September with the help of SSI Evans and SSI Robb, without their support training would be a lot harder”.
