A day of visits and success

Today we are looking at some of the ‘fabulas’ visits that our Cadets have enjoyed this camp, There have been groups meeting Chelsea pensioners, groups learning Engineer skills with the Royal Engineers at Gibraltar Barracks, and of course cadets getting up close and personal with the Army Training Regiment here at Pirbright where the 16 week Basic training course is the staple for many a recruit.

The visits have been cultural and educational, fun and challenging. Being the last day of our Visits we presented our hosts with commemorative Essex Plaques to thank them for their willingness to help and support our cadets.

On the ground cadets have experienced history, inspirational buildings, first class STEM training and special challenges from Army PT Instructors. There has been opportunities to handle alternative weapon systems and take on challenging Obstacle courses. Every cadet in the county has had opportunities to visit our military partners and for the youngsters considering a forces career the ‘Look at life’ Style course provided by the Training Regiment has been invaluable.

Cadets have smiled, sweated, learnt and enjoyed some very unique opportunities this year at camp, and we offer a huge thank you to all the units that have supported us.
