Army Cadets and Adults from 160 Brigade were treated to a special day in Cardiff for the Wales V Japan rugby match at the Principality stadium and also a tour of Cardiff castle. But that was not all, before the match they were given a talk on leadership and teamwork by former Wales and Lion International Ryan Jones, who later answered questions from the cadet on leadership to how the team would be feeling at that very moment.
This was a thank you from our Honourary Colonel... Cadets (Wales) Mr Alan Peterson who has supported the Cadet Force on many occassions and also a great supporter of 1st Battalion Welsh Guards. and the NSPCC. We would like to thank him for his support and generosity and also thank you to Ryan Jones for his time and kind words and recognition of the hard work the cadets and adults do supporting their communities and charitable causes.
I would like to thank the staff at Cardiff castle who were full of enthusiasm and entertained all that attended.
The 330 Cadets had come from Dyfed & Glamorgan, Gwent & Powys and as far as Clwyd & Gwynedd ACFs who had started their journey as early as 5am. The person given the task to bring this together was Captain Jeff Protheroe from Dyfed & Glamorgan who was happy with how the whole day went.
To top the day off Wales won after a last minute conversion with a score of 33 - 30 to Wales. Also on the pitch were members of A Company Dyfed & Glamorgan ACF and 3 Royal Welsh who did an exeptional job with the flags. All cadets behaved well and were a credit to the ACF. Well done all and thank you.
