  • SEVENTH NATIONAL FIRST AID WIN FOR DURHAM ARMY CADETS

    On Saturday 5th October Durham Army Cadet Force (ACF) joined uniformed young people from across all the UK cadet forces. Cadets were able to demonstrate practical first aid skills in the cadet forces national and inter services competitions. Army cadets, sea cadets, Royal Marines and St John Ambulance tackled a range of demanding and realistic scenarios both as individuals and as teams.

    Cadet Colour Sergeant Nicholas Robinson who is 17 years old from Blackhill Consett is the winner of Durham Constabulary’s Young Heroes Awards. Nick has been an Army Cadet for 5 years in Consett. In the space of five months, Nick has stopped not once but three times to help someone in distress, probably saving a life on the third occasion. This is astonishing given that he is only 17 years old!
