Derbyshire's County Band

Derbyshire ACF Band is based in Derby and welcomes cadets from all over the Derbyshire area. We parade on a Wednesday evening from 7pm – 9pm at Sinfin County HQ.

Cadets are welcome whether they have previous musical experience or are beginners, the only essential thing is the enthusiasm to learn and play music. Lessons and instruments can be provided for a wide variety of instruments and the Band has the capacity for Brass, Woodwind, Percussion and Contemporary style such as guitars and keyboards and much more: Everyone is welcome.

Cadets of all levels and musical experience are welcome to join and take part in events all over the country and beyond. Recently the Band has performed in Gibraltar, at Edinburgh Castle, in Wales, in London and at events all over the Derbyshire area. We regularly have opportunities to take part in events with local Reserve Army Bands and with Regular Army Musicians.

Twice a year musical cadet from all over the UK get together for week-long camps, in which over 500 cadets at all levels spend a week doing intensive music, learning and performances with the opportunity to study for BTEC’s in Music and learn skills such as Drum Majoring, composition, conducting and much more. This leads to many friendships forming all over the country: Cadet Music is a very friendly group!

Music is available for cadets to specialise in either on its own or alongside the green APC syllabus, meaning cadets can parade at both Band and another detachment if they choose to do so.

For more details contact the Director of Music Capt Pete Ward on 07870 279639 or email 8083war@armymail.mod.uk
