Penrith Detachment Mark 100th centenary

19 February 2019

Penrith Detachment Cumbria ACF Planted an oak tree at Warcop Camp to mark the centenary of the end first world war.

Penrith detachment commander SSI Dean Ferguson said it was a privilege to be to be part of the tree planting and the cadets will be able to watch the sapling grow into a mighty oak over the years.

An open spot was chosen at Warcop by Maj Mike Lynch (Camp Comdt) in a prominent location to maximise the viewing of the tree by all visiting units to Warcop Camp.

The Oak Tree was donated by The Pot Place Garden Centre Plumpton to mark the centenary.
