Serjeant Major Allen was today promoted and given the position of County First Aid Training Officer. This role is responisble for enabling the training of cadets and adult intructors in First Aid - an extrememly important part of cadet training that can be used in the cadets as well as at home, work and school.
All cadets and adult instructors receive training in first aid as it’s a core subject within the Army Proficiency Certificate syllabus.
In basic cadet training this amounts to safety awareness and ensuring that every cadet knows how to contact the emergency services. As you progress through the syllabus you will be expected to gain the skills necessary for an externally recognised youth first aid qualification.
Many cadets have used their first aid skills to save lives in real situations.
