Clwyd and Gwynedd Army Cadet first aiders triumph in North Wales Young Dragons first aid competition

Clwyd and Gwynedd Army Cadet first aiders triumph in North Wales Young Dragons first aid competitions.

The competitions, which were managed by St Johns Ambulance staff, involved cadets from across the uniformed youth organisation in North Wales.  Young Dragons is the umbrella group for all uniformed groups in Wales has been running the competition for several years competing for a range of awards.

Cadets Sadie Edwards from Bethesda and Leighton Williams from Holyhead won first place in your Under 15s category and cadets  Nicholas Fiorita and Courtney Bargate from Llandudno took first place in your Under 18s category.

Once again adult instructors’ sisters Tabitha and Chloe Cook took first place in the young Adults category.

Participation certificates and the awards were presented by The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd, Colonel John Williams and Mr Edmund Bailey Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd, together with Mrs C H G Howard High Sheriff of Clwyd and Professor S Hope OBE High Sheriff of Gwynedd.

SMI Louise Baker-Morris Regional First Aid Officer thanked the adult staff and teams for their work preparing for the competition which also proved a very useful precursor to the upcoming regional Army Cadet competitions.

Major John Baxendale, the Commandants Young Dragons representative, added it was good that teams from across the spectrum of uniformed groups participated and thanks the staff from St Johns for overseeing the various challenging tests.
