No 3 (Ironside) Company enjoy pre-camp

10 June 2019

Over the weekend cadets and instructors from No 3 (Ironside) Company enjoyed a weekend in the field. The instructors arrived on the Friday night to set up the harbour area. On Saturday morning the cadets arrived, sadly, the weather had deteriorated but this didn't dampen the cadets spirits. Once weapons had been issued and weapon-handling tests completed the cadets then patrolled out to the harbour area.

Once there they set about cooking their lunch, setting up their harbour areas and began their lessons. The more senior cadets then completed a blank firing exercise, whilst the basic and 1 star group completed a night stalking exercise.

Once these were complete, they were bedded down for the night. After a final check on them by the instructors the cadets were tired but still in very high spirits.

On Sunday morning cadets woke up and enjoyed their breakfast. Kit was packed away and the second exercise phase began. This consisted of different attacks using blanks.

On the final parade two instructors were promoted to Colour Sergeant; Phil Swadling and Ros Whyall.

The cadets had a fantastic weekend and should now be ready for annual camp.
