I am writing to share critical information relating to the developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Following Government guidance, it has been made clear that all non-essential travel and social contact should be minimised where possible.

In line with this guidance, and following consultation with MOD and across the Armed Forces Cadet community, all face-to-face Cadet parade nights, activities and events have been suspended from the evening of Tuesday 17 March 2020 until further notice. This suspension applies to all Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

Although this is a difficult decision to have taken, we feel it is in the best interests of everyone involved with the Army's Cadets, and the safety of both our young people and adult volunteers is our first priority.

Government Advice

The Government's Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage is frequently updated as events develop, so please check it regularly at: www.gov.uk/coronavirus

Ongoing Support

We are planning to share activities for Cadets to do online and at home with their parents if families are faced with self-isolation. We will be communicating more about this soon.

Thank you,

Brigadier Mark Christie OBE Deputy Commander Cadets
