Haddenham Steam Rally - Supporting the Local Community

12 September 2019

On the weekend of 7th-8th September 2019, Cadets and Instructors from Haddenham Detachment plus other supporting Detachments within No 3 Company gathered at Haddenham Steam Rally to assist the organisers with car parking and to set up an ACF recruiting stand.

The steam rally is a traditional steam and country fair that’s run entirely by volunteers. It raises money for many local charities and causes and its based at Haddenham, Cambridgeshire.

The enthusiasm of the Cadets, and the hard work of the Instructors, meant that the car parks ran smoothly. Sunday was especially busy as the sun came out and drew the crowds!

The organisers were incredibly grateful for the support provided by the ACF, and even welcomed us into their hospitality tent, where the cadets enjoyed a choice of free food and drinks during their regular breaks.

It’s a perfect example of working to support the local Community and to show case ourselves through a recruiting stand.

Major Grogan, Company Commander said “ We are proud to support the Steam Rally with it’s charity fund raising and at the same time take the opportunity of projecting a positive image of Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force working in the Community.”

“Well done all” - Commandant
