The appointment of Drum Major is a considerable achievement and the highest position in Cadet Force Music. As Drum Major he will be equipped with his Mace and will lead the Corps of Drums on various parades and displays throughout the year.

Speaking of the appointment Drum Major Gould said “I was not expecting the appointment and being able to lead the Basic’s on the recent National Band Camp was a great and exciting honour. Being appointed Drum Major for Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force is just so amazing and I am truly delighted to receive the appointment”.

However, a Drum Major is no good without a Corps of cadets to lead…..so here comes the recruiting pitch!

We are looking for new recruits, that is anyone interested in playing or learning to play the Drum, Bugle or Flute, you are welcome to come and join us at Peterborough Reserve Centre.

To be clear ……………Cadets can still parade with their normal ACF Detachment and also join the Corps by parading on a Monday evening. That way they get the best of both worlds in undertaking “green” training and music!
