The cadets woke up early this morning and enjoyed a nice breakfast. Once they were fed they boarded to the coach ready for the trip to France. Once on the coach the cadets quickly settled down as the excitement grew about going on the train under the tunnel.
The first stop after arriving in France was the museum at Passchendaele; the cadets enjoyed looking around all the artefacts and working their way through the trench system and dug outs.
The cadets then boarded the coach again and headed for Tyne Cot cemetery where the cadets had the chance to walk around the cemetery. Some of the cadets were given the task to find any Cambridgeshire Regiment soldiers who were laid to rest in the cemetery. The cadets found two “named” and four “unnamed” soldiers from the Cambridgeshire Regiment.
After finishing their tour of the cemetery they boarded the coach ready move into their accommodation. Once settled in the cadets tucked into a three course meal, and after they enjoyed an interest lesson on uniforms and weapons that were used in the first world war. Some of the cadets even had chance to dress up in the uniform of the time.
The cadets then enjoyed some free time ready for tomorrow's adventures.
