Salamanca Day

24 July 2018

This weekend we celebrated Salamanca Day with 14th (Buckingham) Platoon. Salamanca Day is a Regimental Day for the Rifles, celebrated on 22nd July since 1812. Salamanca Day commemorates the battle of Salamanca which was one of the most successful battles in the history of the Rifles regiment. Leading up to the weekend cadets have been participated in their own competition - the Salamanca games competing in small sections in different aspects of the syllabus including fieldcraft, shooting, PT and others. Cadets achieved points for teamwork, sportsmanship, conduct and organisation. Well done to Section 3 overall winners. Individual prizes both went to Cdt Farr - the Chosen Man (best overall) and Baker Rifle (best shot)
