About our Battalion

Welcome to the Official web site of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Battalion Army Cadet Force, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. We are a youth organisation funded by the British Army to help male and female cadets from 12 to 18 years old experience a fun and more rewarding childhood.

Cadets enjoy a wide range of activities, from learning about Map Reading, Military Knowledge, First Aid, Target Shooting to Abseiling, Canoeing, Sailing and Clay-target shooting, even Archery. They have the opportunity to take part in sports such as Rugby, Football and Swimming, joining with other cadet battalions and regiments from across the UK They may have a chance to visit other countries. All their instruction is undertaken by well trained and qualified volunteer adult instructors, whose own training is regularly updated.

We have 36 local detachments from Bo'ness in the East to Bowmore in the West and Callendar in the North to Cumbernauld in the South, with over 700 young people enjoying the wide range of activities on offer. All of the detachments are run by trained and qualified adult volunteers. To find out more about individual locations, click on the company links
