9 February 2020
On Sunday 9th February 2020 Army Cadets from both 1st and 2nd (NI) Bn Army Cadet Force took part in the Inter Battalion Sports Training and Selection event for Football and Rugby.
Despite the efforts of ‘Storm Ciara’, Cadets were not deterred and put in their best efforts across both sports in a bid to get selected to represent the Northern Ireland region for the upcoming National Army Cadet Force Football and Rugby Championships.
Sports is an excellent opportunity within the Army Cadet Force and gives cadets the chance to represent their Country in the Army Cadet Force National Championships, whereby Cadets from across the UK compete to be crowned National Champions in their Sport.
As an Army Cadet you will have the option to take part in a variety of sports and competitions such as Cross Country, Swimming, Football, Rugby and Orienteering.
With yet more sports due to be introduced within the sporting remit, such as Hockey and Athletics, it’s clear that many cadets all over the country are regularly building their confidence and learning teamwork skills in a spirit of healthy competition through ACF sport.
If you are interested in taking part in any of the above listed sports, please speak to your Detachment Commander or Company Sports Rep for more details.
