Whats Been Happening over the Summer

29 August 2017

The main event over the summer months was our Annual Camp held at Strensall Barracks York over 2 weeks in July, with over 250 cadets attending they had a great time with many meeting old friends from other camps but many meeting new friends for the first time.

They all took part in different training from fieldcraft (playing soldiers with all the kit) to visits to different places even a theme park for a day out. See how it went click the link below

Some cadets went on a visit to Rome for 5 days and enjoyed the culture and sights of the City of Rome, the trip organised by Reserve Forces and Cadets Association NI was a great success and will hopefully be the first of many to different European cities over the next few years.

B Company held their annual summer adventure training at Castle Archdale Country Park Co. Fermanagh were over 40 cadets had a great time trying out different activities ranging from Water Sports (Banana Boating, Water Trampoline) Biking, Archery and horse riding (Pony Trekking)

Other cadets will be taking part in their Duke of Edinburgh award Bronze and Silver Final Expeditions over the next week

The cadets will return to their detachments over the next couple of weeks after the summer break and we look forward to seeing many more new recruits to fill the boots of our senior cadets who have reached the upper age limit of 18 and move on to other things such as further education and employment.
