1st NI Battalion ACF Remembers the Fallen

It was a really busy weekend for the officers, adult instructors and cadets of the 1 (NI) Bn ACF, with members of the battalion attend at least 30 different events over the Remembrance Weekend.


A Company cadets attended events in Enniskillen and Fivemiletown, Omagh detachment were prepared to parade in Omagh but this was cancelled due to a security alert.

B Company paraded in Londonderry, Coleraine, Ballymoney and Limavady. The Cadet Commandant laid a wreath on behalf of the battalion at the Cenotaph in Londonderry with other members of the Regular and Reserve Forces. The Commandant then travelled to Coleraine with the Commanding Officer 152 Tanker Regiment RLC to take the salute on the Coleraine RBL parades return from the church service. Cadets and staff also attended the RCT Association Parade in Caw Army Reserve Centre and attended a number of church services across the city.

C Company paraded at a number of locations including Antrim, Ballymena, Cullybackey and Glengormley.

Cadets from D Company attended events in and around the City of Belfast with 6 cadets attending the main event at the City Hall Remembrance service as well as the afternoon event at Carrickfergus
The Cadet Commandant said “I would like to thank all the officers, adult instructors and cadets from all over the battalion area who attended so many different events in support of the Royal British Legion, I also wished to thank the parents for their support moving cadets around the different events”.
