Cadets from Yaxley Detachment, 1 Company, revently completed a 10km charity walk to raise money for The National Autistic Society.

The society is the leading charity for autistic people and their families in the UK. Since 1962, the National Autistic Society has been providing support, guidance, and advice, as well as campaigning for improved rights, services, and opportunities to help create an organisation that works for autistic people.

The cadets were tasked to plan an event to help the local community in order to help them complete their Community Engagement aspect of the Army Cadet Syllabus. They quickly agreed that the event should raise money for an autism charity, as they believe in spreading the message that autism comes in many forms and should not be overlooked within our society. With many of our cadets having personal experience of autism, this cause is close to the hearts of many Cambridgeshire ACF families.
