Padre’s thought for the week This week sees the funeral of Captain Sir Tom Moore. Captain Tom captured the hearts of the nation I think because he was actually a normal guy. At the start of Lockdown, he became Grandad to us all - a member of the family we were proud of.
Sadly, I have ended up doing quite a few funerals recently, but I do notice it is a good time to stop and reflect, to pay tribute to what someone has achieved.
So what might others say in their tribute to you, if we were gathered round your coffin? Let us, like Captain Tom, lead by example, have a heart for the wider community and strive to do something worthwhile.
Continue to be safe,
Padre Andrew White
