Barrosa Company Weekend
Barrosa Company have just completed their weekend training with a twist, due to issues beyond our control our residential camp turned at last minute to localised non residential training.
Barrosa personnel and cadets proved that they could overcome and adapt to the change; by pulling together as a team Barrosa adult instructors delivered training such as Shooting, Weapons training, Navigation, Drill, Communication Information System (CIS) and First Aid.
All cadets enjoyed the weekend with many passing their ACS modules and one promotion Cdt Downs from 10 Platoon to LCpl, the Adult Instructors also received recognition from Deputy Commandant Lt Col Davidson who was well received by Barrosa during his introduction to the Company, Lt Nick Bloy and Lt Tim Hicks were presented with their Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medals, with Lt Hicks also receiving his Cadet Force Medal for 12 years good service within the ACF.
Barrosa was ably assisted this weekend by Pte Kaitlen Norman from the College of Army Music by kind permission of her Sergeant Major, many of you will remember Kaitlen was formally Staff Cadet Sergeant Major and formally one of our Company's much valued Cadets, which is why Lt Col Davidson awarded Katelin a BAE excellence award for her work in Band and Corps of Drums 2020.
All our events could not happen if it was not for excellent training delivered by our many dedicated Instructors, extreme thanks and appreciation.
Minden Range Day
Minden Company held a range day at Moodyās Down Range. Joined by Normandy and Arnhem Cadets, 19 cadets achieved at least 2* or improved from their last shoot. Many cadets were new to 2/3* live firing but with coaching did very well!!
