Welsh Guardsman Certificated in Holywell

At the end of the visit by the Welsh Guards engagement team in North Wales to Holywell Detachment, the approaching retirement of Sgt Peter Duffy was marked with a special presentation from all the cadets and adults in Holywell.

Holywell Detachment Commander Louise McCabe-Allen said “Sgt. Duffy has been a fantastic supporter of Holywell Detachment as well as the Battalion as a whole and we are extremely grateful for everything he has done for us over the years including his assistance with the Detachment's rebadging to Welsh Guards a couple of years ago. His dedication to the ACF has been unprecedented.”

Peter said “it has been a pleasure to support cadet detachments across North Wales particularly those affiliated with the Welsh Guards like Holywell. I know the team, now in the capable hands of LSgt Chris Davies 35, will continue the work with all detachments as the Covid constraints are eased. I am very grateful for the gifts from the detachment and I wish them all success in the future.”

On behalf of everyone in Clwyd and Gwynedd ACF, we thank Peter for his invaluable support and look forward to seeing him in the future. We wish him well for his retirement in November.
