Cadet Lance Corporal Tyler McLeod-Taylor (17), recently completed his BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship.

The Qualification completed through the Army Cadet’s own qualification authority – Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation – is equivalent to a SCQF Level 4 with the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The internationally recognised qualification builds life-skills in leadership, teamwork, communications, problem-solving and fitness and is free to complete.

There was no extra work required for the Moray Company cadet to achieve the qualification, all he had to do was complete his One Star Cadet Training and then fill in an application to be enrolled onto CVQO for his cadet training to be formally recognised by the organisation.

LCpl McLeod-Taylor was presented with his certificate on Tuesday evening by the Battalion’s Commandant Colonel Mike MacDonald.
