Stefania Oleksiewicz joined the Army Cadets in September 2016 and has had a varied cadet career achieving 3 star complete and Junior Cadet Instructors Course. She holds the rank of Cpl, is actively involved with her detachment local community and the county shooting team achieving some great shooting scores, as well as achieving Duke of Edinburgh Silver and currently working towards the Gold.

What makes Stefania stand out, as well as being a member of the ACF she is also a member of the local St John Ambulance since 2015 she again has passed a number of first aid/medical courses during her time with them as well as the St John Leadership course which enables her to train younger members of their organisation. This shows great commitment to volunteering being an active member of the St John Ambulance and the ACF.

Stefania hopes her future will be in Children Nursing applying to University to start this autumn, she recognises the courses she has completed through the ACF and St John Ambulance will assist her with learning on the university course.

In addition to the above, Stefania is using her spare time to volunteer in the local Barnardo’s Charity shop and the local community food bank, during the lockdown the food bank in particular has been an extremely important part of the local community. Stefania receives the food which is collected in from supermarkets and then prepares them ready for deliver to local residents in need. I certainly believe Stefania shows all off the CVQO values, going the extra mile as well as being extremely caring and supportive being involved with many different people, from many different backgrounds, in what can only be described as a very difficult time.

Stefania passed the full Level 2 Diploma in May 2020, she has used this qualification as part of her university application, completely understanding the benefit of studying this qualification and how it got her to embed her current knowledge and identify/learn new skills leadership, teamwork and communication in particular, she will take these skills with her to her dream role of working as a children’s nurse, once she has completed degree.
