The start of a Journey

From enquiry to their first training event. 4 people start their journey to becoming a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer

The start of a Journey

24 April 2023

  • Leicestershire Northamptonshire And Rutland ACF

Saturday saw the next cohort of potential new Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV's) complete a familiarisation event at LNR ACF County Headquarters in Leicester.

The 4 slightly nervous volunteers listened intently to a number of presentations, delivered by Directing Staff, to find out more about the Army Cadet Force, the qualities we look for in our CFAV's and their journey to becoming a volunteer with the UK's best and most exciting youth organisation.

It was a small group but they all left the day less nervous and full of enthusiasm to start their journeys as CFAVs with LNR ACF.

Finding out about the ACF

During the day, the cohort of 4 took part in team led tasks as well as delivering a presentation about themselves, which provided an opportunity not only to demonstrate natural leadership and logic, but also to have fun and bring them out of their shells.

Major Maria Walding said " It was a small group but they all left the day less nervous and full of enthusiasm to start their journeys as CFAVs with LNR ACF. My thanks also to Lt O'Brien, SMI Palmer and SSI Cook for their assistance on the day"
