THE ELMS CARE HOME CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

24 December 2020

  • Humberside And South Yorkshire ACF

On Sunday 20th December SSI North and newly promoted Cdt Sgt Jackson delivered two hampers from Mona House Detachment to the residents of The Elms Care Home in Sutton Village for Christmas.

SSI North said "The home has been lucky enough to have managed to stay free of the Covid-19 virus, so the handover was done outside but still abiding by Social distancing rules."

Senior care worker Summer accepted the hampers on their behalf and said, "we are extremely grateful and overwhelmed by the kindness shown, thank you for everyone's generosity."

SSI North added "We also gifted a small bag of items for the staff to share to say thank you for their care and hard work."

Summer told us that the gifts will be shared out between all the residents and that that they will appreciate them.

Summer told SSI North they will be taking some pictures of the residents receiving the gifts and send them to us after Christmas for all to see how much joy they had brought.

The Elms are hoping that the cadets and care home can work together in the future, when this pandemic is over.

SSI North ended with "I am proud of Mona House Detachment, with their generosity and how much they have achieved especially in these uncertain times; and would like to take this opportunity to wish all A Company and all of Humberside and South Yorkshires Army cadet force a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, here's to a better 2021. Stay safe."
