Newmarket Detachment has been generously gifted a high-quality printing and copying machine. The Business Machines Company, who donated the printer, provide a variety of services supporting businesses with the supply and maintenance of printers and copiers. The Director of the company, Martyn Hazelwood, also works for the Fire Service, and understands the value of public service and of the cadet forces.

The donation was arranged by local Royal British Legion (RBL) Chairman Paul Greenwood. Newmarket Detachment are officially affiliated to the RBL, and Paul is determined to support the Detachment as much as possible. He said: "Detachment Commander Nathan Drummond made me aware of a requirement for a printer to support their training, briefings and other activities, so I approached Martyn to see if they could work in partnership and support them. Martyn responded that he was willing to support the ACF and the RAFAC who share the building in Newmarket, and provided them with a printer for their use, to support them. Both the Newmarket Detachment ACF and 2417 Newmarket Squadron RAFAC have benefited from the support shown by Martyn and the team, and I appreciate their full support and assistance which has benefited the youth service organisations based in Newmarket, and it also shows the benefit of the cadets being Affiliated Units of the Newmarket and District Branch RBL, and working in partnership with us.”

The printer will play an important role in distributing information at the detachment, enabling staff to print warning orders, lesson plans and other important information.

Detachment Commander SSI Drummond said; "Business Machines have been more than generous, having given us the printer, Martyn Hazelwood is already talking about upgrading it to an even better model in the near future. It’s a really useful bit of kit, Its really important we have a good printer and copier at this detachment. We want to say a big thankyou to The Business Machines Company, and also to Paul Greenwood for his continuing support"
