Thanks from our Medical Support Officer
Following his promotion yesterday Capt. Young wished to say a few words
I am both privileged and excited by being appointed as the new Medical Support Officer for Essex ACF. The role is still in its infancy, but it is vital in delivering essential medical advice and support to both cadets and adults in helping them enjoy the extensive range of activities available in the ACF.
Having been a registered nurse for over 20 years, I aim to bring my skills and knowledge as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from my ‘day job’ into the role.
I am conscious my predecessor did an excellent job throughout his time in the position (they are big shoes to fill, literally), especially during the COVID19 pandemic. Still, I look forward to building upon his excellent foundations in helping to bring the County out of the current COVID restrictions.
