Merseyside Army Cadets from Wallasey Detachment received a welcome surprise when they accepted a fantastic donation of decommissioned iPads from Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The iPads, which will be used on parade nights by both the Cadets and the Instructors, were officially handed over to representatives of the Wallasey Detachment by the CEO of The Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Tim Welch on the 24 March in a small presentation at St Catherine’s Hospital in Birkenhead.

Tim Welch, Chief Executive CWP with the assistance of Lieutenant Colonel Sapre presented the iPads to Merseyside ACF Sergeant Major Instructor Jennifer Gillison and Merseyside ACF CEO Lieutenant Colonel Andy Downey.

Wallasey Detachment Commander SMI Gillison, who is also an employee of CWP, told us:

“I feel incredibly grateful to CWP for thinking of the Cadets for this donation of iPads. The Army Cadets at the Wallasey Detachment will definitely put them to good use. Thank you.”

Tim Welch, Chief Executive CWP said: “As part of CWP’s commitment to our Armed Forces Community it was an absolute pleasure to be able to find a new home for our iPads with our local Cadet Forces. Growing up I gained so much from being a Cadet and I know that the iPads will be put to great use to enhance the training provided - absolutely wonderful!”
