Wiltshire Army Cadets recently demonstrated their support for Swindon Armed Forces Day through various displays, stands, and public events. Their efforts showcased their commitment to honouring and recognising the brave men and women who are serving and have served in the armed forces.
It was a testament to the strong bond between the Wiltshire Army Cadets and the military community, as well as their dedication to promoting awareness and appreciation for those who serve our country.
Opening and Closing the day, 40 Cadets from the Sword Company Detachments of Abbeyfield, Abbey Park, Calne, Church Place, Dorcan Academy, Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett, and Swindon Academy.
Members of the public can look and "play" with some of the cadet's equipment in our stands. Talking with our Cadets and Adult Instructors learning more about the Army Cadets organisations
Displays in the main arena consisted of The Drill Team, Demonstrations of the Army Cadets Syllabus through role-playing and simulation. RSMI Rich Hearn narrating over the sound system.
Also, Cdt L/Cpl Siobhan Jones played The Last Post with praise from Mayor of Swindon
Cadets were inspected and chatted with His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton, Rt Hon Sir Robert Buckland KBE KC - Conservative MP for South Swindon, and the Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Barbara Parry
