17 brave cadets endured the very changeable weather and had a fantastic time at Alton Waters. There was wind, rain and even a small thunderstorm, but this didn't damped the fun!!Once dressed into wet suits, life jackets and helmets they were split in to two groups. One group were taught how to paddle and went Kayaking around the lake in two person crafts. The second group were given a run down on the dinghies and the equipment, launched them into the water and set sail in the opposite direction.Meanwhile, the heavens opened so the (non-wet suited) CFAVs made a hasty retreat back to their vehicles for a brew to dry off!! After lunch the groups swapped crafts and off they went again. All was going well until the wind disappeared and the cadets had to hand paddle the sail boats back to shore. They then had great fun being taught how to safely right the dingy after capsizing.Lots of smiles at the end of the day, so a great day had by all. Many thanks to Capt Rhind for his hard work in arranging the day.
