The Suffolk Officers Mess Dinner was held at the Officers Mess Wattisham Station.
It was great to see so many members and guests on the return of Annual Dinner following the relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions. Thank you all for your support. We would like to say a big thank you to Maj Jeff Rowell and the staff of the Offices Mess for providing a first class service and support for the evening, an enjoyable evening was had by all.
We had great pleasure in welcoming Mr J Miles DL for A Company and Col (Ret'd) IR MacDonald.
We have had to say farewell to Padre G Brooks who is now moving to Lancashire ACF. Who has provided great service to SACF. We wish him well for the future.
At the Dinner we had the honour to have 3 Officers Mess members who are all members of the Most Venerable Order of The Hospital of St John of Jerusalem ( more commonly known as The Order of St John). The Order of St John is a British royal order of chivalry constituted in 1888 by royal charter from Queen Victoria.
It is unusual to have a mess photo of members of the order at 3 different grades.
Colonel Anthony Fairbanks Weston who holds the grade of Commander of The Order of St John (CStJ). He is the Honorary Colonel for Suffolk ACF, a Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk and also Chairman of the Suffolk Reserve Forces and Cadets Forum.
Colonel Chris Young who holds the grade Officer of the Order of St John (OStJ). He is a member of Suffolk ACF Officers Mess but is the ACF National First Aid Advisor and Chief Medical Support Officer (MSO) for Regional Command Cadets Branch.
Captain Ian Partridge Suffolk ACFs newest member of the Order of St John who holds the grade of Member of The Order of St John (MStJ). Capt Partridge is a full time member of permanent staff but he is also a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer as Medical Support Officer (MSO) for Suffolk ACF.
