SSGT HELEN MARSHALL - QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S ROYAL ARMY NURSING CORPS

6 March 2021

SSI Debbie Callaghan, County PRO

A great night planned for HQNW cadets on 10 March.

Our 5th and final speaker, for now, is SSgt Helen Marshall from the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps. Come along to find out more on what her role entails.

SSgt Helen Marshall joined the Army in late 2006 and trained to become a Nurse in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps. On completion of Basic Training, SSgt Marshal moved to Birmingham to complete her Phase two training at Birmingham City University. In 2010 SSgt Marshal qualified as a Nurse and received a Diploma in Adult Nursing before topping up to a degree in 2015. SSgt Marshall is currently being funding to complete a Masters in Advanced Nursing Practice.

In October 2020 SSgt Marshall was awarded the Associate of the Royal Red Cross, Second Class from the Queen. The following is the citation:

“The Queen has been graciously pleased, on the occasion of the Celebration of Her Majesty’s Birthday, to give orders for the following appointments to the Royal Red Cross in recognition of her contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic”.

I am sure SSgt Marshall will be happy to tell us more on her award as well as her many achievements when we meet her at 7pm on Wednesday 10 March.

All details for joining the meeting will be posted in detachment groups for Greater Manchester. For all other counties in the North West Region the link for the meeting has been sent to your County PRO's in Cheshire ACF, Cumbria ACF, Isle of Man ACF, Lancs ACF and Merseyside ACF. Please ask them for the details.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the night.
