Special event for Deeside Detachment

Deeside detachments share the Deeside Army Reserve Centre in Queensferry with 398 Transport Squadron (Flintshire & Denbighshire Yeomanry) part of 157 (Welsh) Regiment RLC. 157 (Welsh) Regiment RLC is an Army Reserve Logistic Regiment based across the length and breadth of Wales.

After an extended delay due to the pandemic, the detachment has been able to further enhance the relationship by rebadging to the Royal Logistics Corps. This rebadging marks the growing ties between the units. Deeside detachment is the only cadet unit in North Wales to wear the RLC cap badge.

At a special ceremony in front of cadets, staff, and parents Lt Col Bill Beaumont the Commanding Officer of 157 (Welsh) Regiment RLC presented cadets and instructors with their new RLC berets to formally mark the affiliation. Colonel Beaumont said “I am delighted to welcome the cadets and staff from Deeside Detachment into the RLC family and look forward to developing the working relationships” adding “due to the pandemic restrictions this event has been delayed several times but thankfully we made it in the end.”
