This weekend Cadets from Christchurch Detachment, East (El Alamein) Company, attended Wallisdown Army Reserve Centre to take part in the first of a series of Company Shooting and Skill at Arms Training Days.

The Cadets undertook Weapon Handling Tests on the Scorpion Air Rifle, The Cadet Small Bore Target Rifle (CSBTR), and the Cadet GP A2 before moving on to shoot on the Air Rifle Range and the 25m Range with the CSBTR.

Company 2IC, Capt Thor Elsson said; “Getting the Cadets confidence built back up, following the enforced time away is a priority, and everyone achieved something positive today.” Adding, “There was some excellent marksmanship on display today which was great to see.”

Over the next few weeks, the remaining Detachments within East (El Alamein) Company will also take the opportunity to avail themselves of this training and refresh their skills and knowledge.
